All non-playoff teams get shot at No. 1 pick under new NHL draft lottery rules

The NHL has tweaked the draft lottery, giving all 14 teams taking part a shot at the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. The odds of winning the lottery are the same as in previous years, giving teams at the bottom of the standings a much greater chance of winning, but any team that finishes out of the playoffs - or has the rights to the pick of one of those teams - can secure the No. 1 overall selection in the NHL Entry Draft.

Also, all seven rounds of this year's draft will be conducted on a single day - Sunday, June 30 - in New Jersey.
