Frisco, Tex. –
The Dallas Stars announced today that the club has placed defenseman Alex Goligoski
on injured reserve with a broken thumb, retroactive to November 11.
Goligoski, 26, missed Saturday’s game at Detroit after suffering a broken thumb on November 11 at the Pittsburgh Penguins. He is second among Dallas defensemen in scoring with two goals and four assists, totaling six points.
The 5-11, 181-pound defenseman leads the team in power play time-on-ice per-game (3:09), and has logged over 20 minutes of ice-time per-game in 36 of his 38 contests as a member of the Dallas Stars since coming to the team via a trade with Pittsburgh on Feb. 21, 2011.
The Dallas Stars are currently in first place in the Pacific Division with an 11-5-0 record and play the Florida Panthers tonight at American Airlines Center at 7:30 p.m. CT (TV: FOX Sports Southwest, Radio: 1310 The Ticket).
