2010 Dallas Stars Ice Breaker is Coming Soon!

by Staff Writer / Dallas Stars

It’s that time of year again – September is right around the corner. That means Labor Day, school’s back in session and best of all, hockey training camp begins!

Dallas Stars Training Camp is only in a few weeks with the players heading to Prince Edward Island on September 17 for the first few days of practice. But before Training Camp gets going, it is time for the first official event with your 2010-11 Dallas Stars team and “break the ice” on a new season.

After a one-year hiatus, the 2010 Dallas Stars Ice Breaker presented by EA SPORTS will take place on Saturday, September 11 at Galleria Dallas and features Dallas Stars players signing autographs from 11 am – 1 pm (also on hand will be the Dallas Stars Ice Girls presented by Planet Tan/Palm Beach Tan).

The Stars’ Partners for the Ice Breaker are the Cumulus Radio Group (Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket, i93, 99.5 The Wolf, KLIF 570 AM) and TXA 21. The Ticket will broadcast live from the event from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. The Ice Breaker will take place at the center of the Galleria near the ice rink, with autograph locations on every level.

Fans in attendance can register to win an autographed Stars jersey right off the back of one of the players at the Ice Breaker. Jerseys will be given away at the end of the afternoon and fans need not be present during actual drawings to win. All winners’ names will also be posted on DallasStars.com.

Fans can skate with the Dallas Stars Ice Girls on the Galleria Dallas ice as well as meet some of them around the autograph lines (having pictures taken with the girls is welcomed). EA SPORTS will also have a gaming area at Ice Breaker where fans can check out the brand new NHL ® 11 on the PS3 and NHL® SLAPSHOT exclusively on the Wii.

“We’re so excited to get back on the ice this season,” said Stars Executive Vice President Geoff Moore.” The Dallas Stars Ice Breaker is a great way to get things started. We are delighted to be back at Galleria Dallas for the event, with support from the Cumulus Radio Group. It should be a lot of fun.”

So make plans to be at Galleria Dallas on September 11 and help break the ice on a new Dallas Stars season!
