2008 Ace's Got Skills Competitions - Dallas

by Staff Writer / Dallas Stars

WELCOME TO THE 2007-2008

On behalf of the Dallas Stars, the NHL and the Ace Bailey Children's Foundation we invite your Squirt and Pee Wee players to participate in the 2007-08 Ace's Got Skills Competitions.

The Ace's Got Skills Competitions are part of an NHL supported national youth hockey skills championship, with separate events for skaters and goalies. Players need to compete only once to qualify for the next round of the competition. The $20 registration fee provides a donation to the Ace Bailey Children's Foundation and allows the player to compete in all of the skills (Fastest Skater, Hardest Shot, Shooting Accuracy, Shootout and Goalie Competition).

Regional winners will be invited to compete at the Nationals in the Spring/early Summer of 2008 against players from other NHL markets. Last year several players competed at the Got Skills Nationals in New York City and represented the Stars very well. Alec Ducsay won the Pee-Wee House- level Shootout and placed in Accuracy competition. Cole Ducsay came in second in the Squirt-House level Fastest Skater competition; Joey Sardina placed in the Squirt Travel-level Fastest Skater competition; Ben Heger placed in the Squirt House-level Hardest Shot competition, R.B. Wilcoxon placed in the Pee-Wee Travel-level Shootout; Brett McIntyre placed in the Squirt House- level Goalie competition; Alex Gross placed in the Squirt Travel- level Goalie competition and Grant Schwartz placed in the Pee-Wee House-level competition.

This year's competition dates and times are as follows:

Thursday, March 27, 2008 @ Dr Pepper StarCenter in Farmer's Branch.
6:00 pm - SQUIRT HOUSE (97-98 Birth Years)
6:00 pm - SQUIRT TRAVEL (97-98 Birth Years)

7:45 pm - PEE WEE HOUSE (95-96 Birth Years)
