SAN JOSE, California — The San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) announced today that defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic has been selected as the Brocade (@BRCDcomm) “Sharks Player of the Month” for October.
Playing in all of the team’s 13 games, Vlasic has posted ten points (3-7=10) which ranks him T-6th in the League and first on the Sharks in scoring among blueliners His +13 rating is tied with teammate Justin Braun and ranks first in the NHL.
Established in the 1996-97 season, the Brocade “Sharks Player of the Month” program honors the Sharks player(s) who have contributed most to the team’s success each month. Brocade will donate $2,500 on behalf of the player(s) to the Sharks Foundation. In addition, one player will be selected as the Brocade “Sharks Player of the Year” at the conclusion of the season and Brocade will donate $5,000 on his behalf to The Sharks Foundation. The Sharks Player of the Month and Year award program has donated more than $300,000 to the Sharks Foundation since the program's inception.
