Whether it's the 'Flying V' or a reenactment of Herb Brooks' famous pre-game speech, there is always something iconic that resonates with hockey fans when their favorite sport is the backdrop on the silver screen. There may not be many "hockey movies" out there to choose from, but in ranking a list, it can be as intense of a battle as if players were fighting for a loose puck along the boards.

We asked Sharks twitter fans to weigh in on their favorite hockey themed movies for this week's Twitter 10. All responses were sent to the Sharks official Twitter account @SanJoseSharks and the top 10 responses are counted down below.

Honorable Mention: From @sjsharkie: ED TV – I am in it!

10. From @Numb1CloweFan29: Tooth Fairy, because "The Rock" needs to learn hockey!

9. From @matt_robart: Strange Brew -- not entirely a hockey movie, but awesome nonetheless.

8. From @vynnzilla: Happy Gilmore is pretty far up on my favorites list

7. From @Tim_Yee: @RobLowe My favorite hockey movie? Youngblood. Why? Cynthia Gibb

6. From @drewgill: Mystery Alaska, because it made me weepy, and Doug Murray reminds me of Kevin Durand's skating ability. Ha!

From @omar01: Every list should start with Slap Shot

4. From @MissEileen: "The Mighty Ducks" because it's the perfect combination of "never give up" attitude and the '90s fashion. ;)

From @erickhodges: Mighty Ducks. :-) I grew up with that movie and is one of the reasons I love hockey

From @chrisnoway: best hockey movie Miracle, with that pregame speech by Herb Brooks how can it not by a favorite?

1. From @Puckguy14: Miracle, Mystery Alaska, The Mighty Ducks, Slap Shot. If its a hockey movie, it's the best.
