Last season, defenseman Dan Boyle became the highest goal-scoring defenseman in Sharks history when he passed Sandis Ozolinsh. Troubled by injury in the early goings of 2011-12, Boyle turned it on in the second half, finishing eighth among league defensemen in points (9-39=48). The Sharks assistant captain also set a career high in shots, finishing 2nd among league defenseman.
