To celebrate Sharks history, each week we will highlight moments of the past. So check back to the Daily Chomp each week to celebrate with us for Throwback Thursday. In addition, we will be giving away special Sharks throwback items every Thursday.

This week the Daily Chomp takes a look at the Sharks 2007-08 season.

Did you know... San Jose set then-team records for most points (108) and points percentage (.659), road wins (27), most road points (58), fewest shots allowed (1,981), fewest power play goals allowed (44) and fewest regulation losses (23) in a single season.

  • Coach Ron Wilson led San Jose to their third Pacific Division Championship, second in his tenure. He became the 11th coach to win 500 NHL games on Feb. 9, 2008 vs. Nashville. Wilson also won his 200th game as Sharks head coach on March 18, 2008 at Los Angeles, surpassing Darryl Sutter to set the record for most wins (206).
  • Acquired D Brian Campbell along with a seventh round selection in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft from Buffalo in exchange for RW Steve Bernier and a first round selection in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft on Feb. 26, 2008.
  • San Jose set team standards for longest overall winning streak (11 games, Feb. 21, 2008 at Philadelphia through March 14, 2008 vs. St. Louis), longest road winning streak (10 games, Nov. 14, 2007 at Dallas through Dec. 31, 2007 at Minnesota), most consecutive overall games recording a point (20, Feb. 21, 2008 at Philadelphia through April 1, 2008 vs. Los Angeles) and most consecutive road games recording a point (14, Oct. 29, 2007 at Dallas through Jan. 13, 2008 at Anaheim).
  • G Evgeni Nabokov finished second in the Vezina Trophy voting after achieving team regular season goaltending records in wins (50), appearances (77), minutes (4,561), most consecutive starts (50) and most consecutive wins (10). Nabokov also played in his second NHL All-Star Game and became the first goaltender since 2002 to stop all of the shots he faced (eight in the second).
  • Relieved Ron Wilson of head coaching duties on May 12, 2008.
