SAN JOSE - The San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) are slated to open their 2014-15 training camp later this month at Sharks Ice at San Jose.
The full roster will hit the ice for their first team training sessions on Friday, Sept. 19, beginning at 9 a.m., which will also serve as Media Day for members of the Bay Area media.
As in previous years, the training camp roster will be broken into two groups, which will practice on different rinks at different times at Sharks Ice. Media access will follow for each group once they are done skating for the day. Head Coach Todd McLellan will be available to the media following the conclusion of all on-ice sessions.
The groups are scheduled to have a public scrimmage on Saturday, Sept. 20, and Sunday, Sept. 21, at 9:50 a.m. on the Sharks Ice South Rink.
Sharks Rookie Camp will open at Sharks Ice on Sept. 12 and will feature two "Futures" games in Anaheim, CA, against prospects of the Anaheim Ducks on Sept. 13 (at THE RINKS - Anaheim ICE at 6 p.m.) and Sept. 14 (at Honda Center at 5 p.m.)
A detailed, daily training camp schedule and team breakdowns will be announced in the coming weeks.
Practice sessions at Sharks Ice will continue to be open to the general public.
The Sharks are scheduled to have four preseason home games, including a "split-squad" date which includes a "home" date against the Vancouver Canucks at Stockton Arena in Stockton, CA on Sept. 23 at 7:30 p.m.
98.5 FM KFOX and the Sharks Radio Network will broadcast the final two games of the preseason, Oct. 3 at Arizona and Oct. 4 at Anaheim. Radio coverage will begin with the popular 30-minute pre-game show, "Sharks Warm-Up," followed by another popular segment, "Coach's Chalkboard," and the game broadcast.
