SAN JOSE, California
– San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has signed college free agent wing Sebastian Stalberg to a two-year entry level contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Stalberg, 21, led the University of Vermont in goals, assists and points (12-19=31) in 34 games as a junior this season. The brother of Chicago Blackhawks forward Viktor Stalberg, Sebastian also paced his team with six power play goals.

The six-foot, 190-pound native of Gothenburg, Sweden registered 78 points (27-51=78) in 106 career games in three seasons at Vermont. During the 2010-11 season, he was named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team and earned Hockey East All-Star Honorable Mention. He was also a member of the 2009-10 Hockey East All-Rookie Team.

“Sebastian is a skilled and versatile forward that improved each and every year at the college level,” said Wilson. “Coach Kevin Sneddon and his staff at the University of Vermont have been tremendous in helping Sebastian’s development and we look forward to him continuing on that path with our organization.”
