Sharks Sign Defenseman Adam Comrie

SAN JOSE, California - San Jose Sharks (@sanjosesharks) Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the team has signed defenseman Adam Comrie to a one-year contract.

In 2012-13 Comrie split time between the Reading Royals of the ECHL and the Worcester Sharks. In 24 games with Worcester, Comrie posted 15 points (three goals, 12 assists), a +2 rating and 24 penalty minutes.

During 45 games with Reading, Comrie logged 33 points (17 goals, 16 assists), a +22 rating and 106 penalty minutes. He finished 1st amongst all ECHL defenseman in goals (17) and 10th amongst all skaters in plus-minus (+22).

In 65 career games in the ECHL with the Greenville Road Warriors, Cincinnati Cyclones, and Reading, Comrie has posted 48 points (25 goals, 23 assists), a +22 rating and 128 penalty minutes.

The 22 year old Comrie has played in 68 career AHL games with the Rochester Americans and Worcester, recording 20 points (three goals, 17 assists) and 42 penalty minutes.

The six-foot-four, 215-pound native of Ottawa, Ontario was originally selected in the third round (80th overall) by the Florida Panthers in the 2008 NHL Draft.
