The San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) announced today the release of new secondary marks beginning in the 2016-17 season.
The secondary marks will be incorporated into the look and feel of the new campaign for 2016-17. They will be used in a limited number of marketing applications this season. The new marks will first be used in the Los Tiburones jersey giveaway that all fans in attendance to the Sharks game on October 29, 2016 against the Nashville Predators. The marks will not be replacing the current logos; they are to be used in addition to the current logos. They will not be used on the 2016-17 jerseys.
Bay Area Graphic artist Terry Smith created the new logos. Smith is the creator of the original Sharks logo which was featured as the crest on the team’s original jersey and used again last season on the team’s retro-jersey’s to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the franchise.

We have taken tremendous pride in designing all of the team’s signature looks for the last 25 years,” said Smith. “As an artist and sports enthusiast, there is no greater feeling than having the fans and players embrace what we create. Working on a new generation of Sharks logos has given us the opportunity to expand the brand and incorporate new elements into the overall look and feel of the franchise.”
