SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reduced their training camp roster by three players. Graham Mink, Lukas Kaspar and Thomas Greiss have all been assigned to the Worcester Sharks.

PLAYER POS TEAM ASSIGNED BY STATUS
Graham Mink RW Worcester (AHL) Signed as a free agent, July 14, 2006
Lukas Kaspar LW Worcester (AHL) NHL Entry Draft (2004, 1st round, 22 overall)

This announcement finally caps the speculation surrounding who will be Evgeni Nabokov's backup for the Sharks this season. 24-year-old Dimitri Patzold, who hails from the same hometown as Nabokov, will serve as San Jose's No. 2 goaltender.

“Both goalies had a great training camp,” said Sharks Vice President and Assistant Manager Wayne Thomas. “Dimitri is ready for this opportunity and it also allows Thomas to play consistently in Worcester and build on his progress from last season.”
