Sharks Reduce Camp Roster by Seven

SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced Thursday that the club has trimmed seven players from the team’s 2009-10 Training Camp Roster.


The following former Sharks draft selections were re-assigned to their junior club:

PLAYER POS TEAM ASSIGNED TO DRAFT STATUS
Julien Demers D Ottawa (OHL) 2008 NHL Entry Draft (5th round, 144th overall)
Phil Varone C London (OHL) 2009 NHL Entry Draft (5th round, 147th overall)
Marek Viedensky C Prince George (WHL) 2009 NHL Entry Draft (7th round, 189th overall)

The following players, in camp on a tryout basis, were released to their respective clubs:

Daniel Erlich RW London (OHL) Draft Eligible, 2010

Sharks training camp officially opens on Sun., Sept. 13 at Sharks Ice at San Jose. The first intra-squad scrimmage will take place at 11:15 on the facility’s South Rink.
