Sharks Recall Tierney and Tennyson from Worcester

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled forward Chris Tierney (@tierney71) and defenseman Matt Tennyson (@Tenner_7) from the Worcester Sharks (AHL).

The 20-year-old Tierney has posted 10 points (1-9=10) in 12 games with Worcester this season, ranking T-1st on the team in assists (9). In 11 games with San Jose this year, Tierney registered two points (0-2=2) in 11 games.

Tierney, a six-foot, 190-pound native of Keswick, Ontario, was originally drafted by San Jose in the second round (55th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.

The 24-year old Tennyson leads all Worcester defensemen in goals (3) and has posted six points (three goals, three assists) and 10 penalty minutes in 19 AHL games played this season.

Tennyson, a six-foot-two, 205-pound native of Minneapolis, MN, was originally signed by San Jose as a free agent on March 29, 2012.

In related moves, Mike Brown and Matt Nieto have been placed on injured reserve.
