SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled forward Marcus Sorensen (@sorensenmarcus) and defenseman Joakim Ryan (@JoakimRyan) from the San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda), the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (@TheAHL).

Sorensen is currently fourth on the Barracuda in points with 27 (13 goals, 14 assists) in 39 games. He ranks third in goals and his plus-15 is second on the team.

The five-foot-ten, 175-pound native of Sodertalje, Sweden was originally drafted in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators. He was signed as a free agent by San Jose on May 13, 2016.

Ryan is fifth in scoring, second amongst Barracuda defensemen, with 25 points (5 goals, 20 assists). He leads the Barracuda in plus/minus with a plus-17 on the year. More so, his 20 assists ranks fourth on the team in that category while tying him for 10th place amongst defensemen in the AHL.

The five-foot-eleven, 185-pound native of Rumson, New Jersey, was originally selected by San Jose in the seventh round (198th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.

Both players would make their NHL debut with the Sharks.

In a related move, the Sharks assigned forward Kevin Labanc (@Str8ToTheBanc) and defenseman Tim Heed to the Barracuda.
