SAN JOSE – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled forward Andrew Desjardins from the Worcester Sharks, the team’s top development affiliate, and reassigned forward Tommy Wingels to the AHL club.

Desjardins, 23, has played in 34 games for Worcester this season, posting 16 points (four goals, 12 assists) in addition to 42 penalty minutes. In 2009-10, he amassed 46 points (19 goals, 27 assists) in 80 games for Worcester. His 126 penalty minutes and plus-29 rating ranked him second on the team in both categories last season.

The six-foot-one, 200-pound native of Lively, Ontario was signed as a free agent by San Jose on June 26, 2010.

In a related move, forward Tommy Wingels has been reassigned to Worcester. Wingels has played in five games for San Jose without registering a point. With Worcester this season, he has accumulated 12 points (6 goals, 6 assists) in 28 games played.
