by San Jose Sharks Staff / San Jose Sharks
San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled forward Andrew Desjardins from the Worcester Sharks, the team’s top development affiliate.

He played in his first NHL game on Jan. 3 against Vancouver.

Desjardins, 23, has played in 38 games for Worcester this season, posting 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) in addition to 46 penalty minutes and a +12 rating.

The six-foot-one, 200-pound native of Lively, Ontario was signed as a free agent by San Jose on June 26, 2010.

The Sharks also activated forward Joe Pavelski from injured reserve after he missed eight games.

In a related move, forward Torrey Mitchell has been placed on injured reserve with a lower body injury.
