SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Tim Heed from the San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda), the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League (@TheAHL).

The 25-year-old defenseman currently ranks 2nd in the AHL in scoring amongst defensemen, posting 31 points (9 goals, 22 assists) and a plus-7 rating in 28 games with the Barracuda. His nine goals rank T-3rd among league defensemen while his 22 assists rank T-1st. Heed has recorded six power-play goals this season, which ranks T-1st among blueliners in the league. His point total is good enough for eighth best among all skaters in the AHL (tied).

The five-foot-eleven, 175-pound native of Goteborg, Sweden was originally drafted in the fifth round (132nd overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Anaheim Ducks. He was signed as a free agent by San Jose on May 24, 2016.
