SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled defenseman Joakim Ryan (@JoakimRyan) from the San Jose Barracuda (@sjbarracuda), the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

Ryan, 24, recorded three points (all assists) and a plus-two rating in 24 games played. His first stint in the NHL was highlighted by his performance on November 1 against the Nashville Predators in which he set a franchise record and NHL rookie record for most blocked shots in a single game with nine.

In his two games with the Barracuda this season, Ryan tallied one goal and one assist with a plus-two rating and ten shots on goal.

The five-foot-eleven, 185-pound native of Rumson, New Jersey, was originally selected by San Jose in the seventh round (198th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.

Additionally, Wilson has announced that the Sharks have reassigned Forward Danny O'Regan (@DannyORegan15) to the San Jose Barracuda.

In ten games with the Sharks, O'Regan posted four assists and five shots on goal. His time with the Sharks was highlighted by a two assist night against Tampa Bay on December 2.

O'Regan is tied for first amongst all Barracuda skaters in goals (6), ranks tied for 5th in assists (6) and 4th in points (12) in 13 games played.

He was named the 2017 Dudley "Red" Garrett Memorial Award winner as the AHL's Rookie of the Year last season after pacing all AHL rookies in points (58 in 63 GP).

The five-foot-ten, 180-pound native of Berlin, Germany, was originally selected by San Jose in the fifth round (138th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.
