SAN JOSE, Calif. – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled center Logan Couture from the Worcester Sharks, the team’s top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

In 12 games with San Jose this season, Couture has notched two points (one goal, one assist) and four penalty minutes. He made his NHL debut on Oct. 25 at Philadelphia, picked up his first NHL point on Nov. 1 at Carolina, assisting on Brad Staubitz’s game-winning goal, and scored his first NHL goal on Nov. 5 at Detroit.

Couture has appeared in 42 games with Worcester, posting 53 points (20 goals, 33 assists) which places him third on the team and second among all AHL rookies, despite having played 20 fewer games than his rookie peers. He has also posted a plus-16 rating.

The six-foot-one, 195-pound native of London, Ontario was originally selected by San Jose in the first round (9th overall) of the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.
