Sharks Recall Center Desjardins From AHL

San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled center Andrew Desjardins from Worcester (AHL), the team’s top development affiliate. San Jose has also reassigned left wing John McCarthy to Worcester

Desjardins, 24, appeared in three games with San Jose this season, making his NHL debut on Jan. 3 vs. Vancouver. He has played in 58 games for Worcester this season, posting 29 points (12-17=29), 69 penalty minutes and a +14 plus/minus rating.

The six-foot-one, 200-pound native of Lively, Ontario was signed as a free agent by San Jose on June 26, 2010.

McCarthy, 24, has posted four points (2-2=4) in 36 games with San Jose this season. He has played in eight games with Worcester this season, posting seven penalty minutes.

The 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of Boston, Massachusetts was selected by San Jose in the seventh round (202nd overall) of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
