Sharks Recall Carpenter, Assign Meier

SAN JOSE, CA - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled Ryan Carpenter (@CarpyDeuces) from the San Jose Barracuda (@SJBarracuda, AHL):   
The 25-year-old Carpenter posted 18 goals, 37 assists and a plus-20 rating in 66 games last year for the Barracuda. He finished the season as team-leader in points and won the Yanick Dupre Memorial Award for community service. He made his NHL debut on December 11, 2015 against the Minnesota Wild. 
The six-foot-one, 180-pound native of Oviedo, Florida, Carpenter was originally signed as a free agent on March 26, 2014.
In addition, Timo Meier (@MeierTimo) has been assigned to the San Jose Barracuda.

In 52 games between Halifax and Rouyn-Noranda of the QMJHL last season, Meier registered 34 goals, 53 assists and 46 PIM's. He represented Switzerland at the 2016 World Jr. Championships, captained the team, and collected two goals and three assists in six games.
The six-foot, 210-pound native of Herisau, Switzerland, was the Sharks first-round selection (ninth overall) in the 2015 NHL Draft.
