Sharks Reassign Chris Tierney to Worcester Sharks

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned forward Chris Tierney (@tierney71) to the Worcester Sharks.

The 20-year-old Tierney has posted 24 points (7 goals, 17 assists) in 26 games with Worcester this season. At the time of his recall on Feb. 4, Tierney ranked 1st on the team in points per game (0.92) and third on the team in assists (17).

In 24 games with San Jose this year, Tierney has registered seven points (1-6=7). He made his NHL debut on Oct. 8 at Los Angeles and recorded his first career point (an assist) in the contest.

A six-foot, 190-pound native of Keswick, Ontario, Tierney was originally drafted by San Jose in the second round (55th overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.

In addition, the club has activated forward Tye McGinn (@TyeMcGinn) from injured reserve.

McGinn, 24, has recorded five points (one goal, four assists) and 11 penalty minutes in 32 games with San Jose this season. He was placed on injured reserve on Feb. 4, missing 11 games.
