Sharks Re-Sign Goaltender Harri Sateri

SAN JOSE, California - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the team has re-signed Group II restricted free agent goaltender Harri Sateri (@HarriSateri) (HAHR-ee sa-TEHR-ee) to a one-year contract.

In 2012-13, Sateri played in 39 games with the Worcester Sharks of the AHL, posting a 2.89 goals against average, .903 save percentage and one shutout. On Dec. 2, 2013 he made an AHL season-high 50 saves and stopped all five shooters in the shootout.

In 2011-12 Sateri played in 38 games with Worcester, posting a 2.86 goals against average .908 save percentage and two shutouts. Sateri became the first goalie in Worcester Sharks history to post back-to-back shutouts in consecutive starts, making 25 saves against Portland on Jan. 8 and 23 saves against Providence on Jan. 13. In the process he set the Worcester Sharks franchise record shutout streak, logging 157:37 of consecutive shutout time.

The 23 year-old Sateri has played in 84 career AHL games, posting a 2.85 goals against average, .906 save percentage and three shutouts.

The six-foot-one, 205-pound goaltender was selected by San Jose in the fourth round (106th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft.
