SAN JOSE – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed defenseman Derek Joslin to a one-year contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Joslin, 23, posted 32 points (five goals, 27 assists) in 55 games with Worcester (AHL) and added five points (four goals, one assist) in 11 Calder Cup playoff games. Joslin also appeared in 24 games with San Jose, recording three assists, including his first career point on Nov. 15 at Chicago.
In 36 career NHL games with San Jose, Joslin has three assists and 18 penalty minutes. The former AHL All-Star has 203 games of AHL experience, posting 96 points (26 goals and 70 assists) with Worcester and Cleveland.
The six-foot-one, 210-pound defenseman was selected by San Jose in the fifth round (149th overall) of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.
