Sharks Re-Sign Defenseman Dylan DeMelo

SAN JOSE- San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has signed defenseman Dylan DeMelo (@ddems2) to a two-year contract.

DeMelo, 22, posted two goals, two assists and 42 shots in 45 games with the Sharks this past season. He appeared in 15 games with the Barracuda in 2015-16, recording six assists and 23 shots on goal.

In 162 career AHL games (Worcester and San Jose), DeMelo has recorded seven goals, 50 assists and 93 penalty minutes. In addition, in four Calder Cup Playoff games, DeMelo has recorded one goal, two assists and six penalty minutes.

A six-foot-one, 195-pound native of London, Ontario, DeMelo was originally drafted by San Jose in the sixth round (179th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft.
