"Brenden is an important part of this team going forward and we look forward to him playing an integral role on our blueline for years to come," said Wilson. "He's a great fit for our organization now and for the future and we're excited to watch him blossom here in San Jose."
Dillon has posted 35 points (11 goals, 24 assists) and 228 penalty minutes in 209 career NHL games with Dallas and San Jose. He represented Canada at the 2013 World Championships, recording one goal in eight games.
