Sharks Prospect Report for October 13

The Kingston Frontenacs named Taylor Doherty team captain for the 2010-11 season. Originally a second round choice from the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, the Sharks defensive prospect recorded an assist in three straight games to start the season. His five points in seven games tie him for 12th best among OHL blue liners. On September 25, he recorded two assists and a plus-2 rating on his way to being named the Third Star versus Belleville.


Charlie Coyle was selected in the first round of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft by the Sharks. In his first collegiate game, the freshman scored a goal and added an assist to help Boston University to a 4-3 victory over the University of Wisconsin. Through a pair of games, the center leads his team in faceoff percentage, winning over 58 percent of his draws.
