Sharks Prospect Report for Jan. 21

Sharks prospect Tyson Sexsmith (pictured) continues to provide stellar goaltending for the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League. The 2007 Sharks third-round pick is 25-4-2 with a 2.13 GAA and a .901 save percentage this season. Sexsmith recorded his third shutout of the season on Jan. 15 with a 2-0 win over the Edmonton Oil Kings. The 18-year-old netminder is tied for third in the league in wins.

Worcester Sharks right winger Ryan Vesce has a team-high 48 points (15 goals and 33 assists) in 45 games and is tied for fourth in the American Hockey League in scoring. The 26-year-old ranks third in the league in assists. Vesce is currently on a team-high 13-game points streak (7-13=20). The Lloyd Harbor, N.Y., native scored a goal and notched an assist at Monday’s AHL All-Star Classic in Worcester, Mass.

Justin Daniels leads Sioux City of the USHL in assists (22) and is third on the team in points (25). Daniels is fifth in the USHL in power play assists (11). Justin’s twin brother Drew Daniels is sixth on Sioux City with 19 points and has four power-play goals. The twins will begin their first year at Northeastern University in this fall.
