Sharks Prospect Report for Jan 20

Center Michael Sgarbossa of the Sudbury Wolves (OHL) ranks third on the team in points (41) is tied for first in goals (20) and fourth on the team in assists (21). Over the six games he’s played in January, the 18-year-old has tallied 12 points (7 goals, five assists) and recorded at least one point in each game. Most recently, he scored two goals (including the game winner) and was named First Star on Jan. 16 vs. Oshawa.


20-year-old center Philip Varone of the Erie Otters (OHL) is currently tied for fourth on the team in points while ranking fourth on the team in goals and assists. His four game-winning goals rank 16th in the OHL and his three shorthanded goals place him tied for sixth in the League. The Sharks 2009 fifth round draft pick has 13 points (five goals, eight assits) in his last seven games.
