Sharks Prospect Report for Dec. 10

San Jose Sharks prospect Taylor Doherty is third among defenseman on the team in points (11) and second in assists (10). The 6-foot-7 defenseman from the Kingston Frontenacs (OHL) received fighting major on Nov. 22 vs. Plymouth (Hayes) and Nov. 12 vs. Brampton (Clark).

Doherty scored his first goal of the season on Nov. 8 vs. Mississauga. He also recorded two assists and five points with a +5 rating and 28 penalty minutes in November. Doherty is tied for third on the team in penalty minutes.

Prospect Marek Viedensky was named to the Slovak National Under 20 team to participate in the 2010 World Junior Championships in Saskatchewan. Currently Viedensky leads the Prince George Cougars (WHL) in points (22) and assists (19).

The 6-foot-3 center is tied for second on the team with a +2 and tied for eighth in the WHL’s Western Conference in assists. Viedensky has recorded six points and six penalty minutes in his last five games (1+5=6). He received fighting major Nov. 11 vs. Brandon (Bestland).
