Sharks Prospect of the Week: Danil Gushchin

Danil Gushchin has been selected as the 'Sharks Prospect of the Week' for the week of Nov. 9 after registering seven points (four goals, three assists) and a plus-4 rating in three games for the Muskegon Lumberjacks in the United States Hockey League (USHL).

Gushchin opened his USHL 2020-21 season with three points (one goal, two assists) and a plus-3 rating at the Dubuque Fighting Saints in a 7-4 win. In his third game, Gushchin registered a hat trick and four total points. Entering Monday, Gushchin leads all USHL skaters in goals (4) and points (7), and ranks tied for third in plus/minus (4) and assists (3).
Last season, Gushchin recorded 47 points (22 goals, 25 assists) in 42 games for Muskegon. He led the team in goals, assists and points, and ranked tied for 11th in goals among USHL skaters and 16th in points.
The five-foot-eight, 165-pound native of Yekaterinburg, Russia was selected by San Jose in the 2020 NHL Draft (third round, 76th overall).
