Sharks Players Arrive For All-Star

by Staff NHL.COM / San Jose Sharks
Dan Boyle and Logan Couture flew into Raleigh, North Carolina Friday afternoon and immediately went into All-Star mode.

“We got in around 4 o’clock. We pretty much got in, got over here and got a bite to eat,” Boyle said.

Boyle’s parent will be on hand for the game, but could not arrive on schedule as their All-Star son did.

“They are in Ottawa and their flight got cancelled,” Boyle noted. “The second one got pushed back. An hour ago they were still stuck at the airport in Ottawa. Unfortunately they are going to miss tonight. Hopefully we’ll get them in tomorrow morning.”

Couture’s parents have made it to North Carolina already, so they get to enjoy the first night of fun.

“I saw them today, they are pretty pumped,” Couture said. “They’ll be wandering around.”

The world’s hockey media is surrounding the game and Boyle is answering questions about Logan Couture as much as he is himself.

“You certainly get recognized for what you do in the offensive zone and his stats are pretty nice, but as a defenseman I appreciate him for what he does in the defensive zone,” Boyle said. “He’s the complete package and I think he is a great two-way player.”

Boyle learned about the big All-Star lights last year and says it will be beneficial to the rookie.

“It gives his a little taste of what it’s like having more than one (writer) talking to you,” Boyle said.
