Pretty solid effort from San Jose overall, sustained pressure and plenty of shots. Both teams played hard, very little chippiness that can happen in preseason games.Good goaltending on the Ducks side and some unkind bounces in front of the Sharks net did in the boys in Teal tonight. Final score, 5-2 Ducks, SOG: ANA 18, SJ 40. Stalock looked sharp, saving his best save for the end, with 20 seconds to go, went post to post to stop a Blake one-timer on a pass from Macenauer.

5-1 Ducks, 11:23 3rd, Blake off tipped pass, buries past a sprawling Stalock. Bad luck goal again as puck was tipped in front and stopped on a dime, causing Stalock to lose his balance. Was a PPG with Thornton in the box for goalie interference. Sharks answer right back, Doherty with a wrist shot from the face off circle, assists from Zalewski and Wingels at 10:51. 5-2, Sharks outshooting the Ducks 34-14.
Sharks break the ice. Mitchell collects his own rebound and circles the net, depositing it in under a sprawling Pielmeier. 7:31 of the 3rd, assisted by Ferriero. 4-1 Ducks. The two Sharks fowards blazed through the neutral zone, catching Ducks defenders flat, setting up the goal.
16:57 left, two great chances by Clowe, Setoguchi and Thornton, the puck just will not get behind Pielmeier. Sharks outshooting the Ducks 27-12, you get the feeling if the Sharks can break the shutout, more good will follow. Stalock with his first big save and test off a point blank shot by Ducks Blake.

3-0 Ducks, wierd bounce off Wallin's back heel while battling Ducks forward in front of net. Ducks were on the power play (Schaus off for delay of game) and initial shot was deflected into a pile of bodies. Syvret gets credit at 15:19, from Beleskey. Shades of the 2009 playoffs, Hiller stopping everything thrown at him. Final seconds of the power play, blast from Ferreiro hits Mashinter in the midsection, PP over, Sharks outshooting the Ducks 19-10 with just under 8 minutes remaining. 13:00 left in 2nd, another scoring chance for the Sharks, Clowe on pass from Thornton off strong forecheck by Setoguchi. Hiller makes pad stop. Sharks outshooting Ducks 6-1 thus far. Sharks keeping pressure up, still down 2-0.

In the first minute of the 2nd, McGinn hits the crossbar on a 2 on 1 with Ferreiro. Puck popped out of the Sharks zone on an errant Ducks pass. Ducks control the rebound, and on the ensuing rush up the ice, score, Voros from Bodie at 1:38, 2nd period.
