Sharks Issue Bonafide Offers

SAN JOSE, CA - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) Interim General Manager Joe Will announced today that the team has issued bonafide offers to the following players (2021 NHL Draft) and thus will retain their negotiating rights:

Cardwell, 20, skated in 49 regular season games for Barrie, earning 58 points (23 goals, 35 assists). He finished second among club skaters in goals, points and plus-minus (plus-20) and led the team in points-per-game (1.18). Cardwell led Barrie in playoff goal scoring and points, registering six points (four goals, two assists) in as many games.

The five-foot-eleven, 195-pound native of Oshawa, Ontario was selected by San Jose in the 2021 NHL Draft (fourth round, 121st overall).

Gaudreau, 19, appeared in 44 regular season contests for Sarnia, posting a .891 save percentage, 3.71 goals-against-average and earning a 19-8-5 record. Gaudreau started all six of Sarnia's playoff games and registered a .924 save percentage and 2.63 goals-against-average. The netminder helped the Sting earn two wins against the number-one-seeded Windsor Spitfires and was named the first star of the game (April 26 win, saved 31 of 33) and second star of the game (April 30 win, saved 43 of 45) for his performances.

The six-foot-two, 175-pound native of North Bay, Ontario was selected by San Jose in the 2021 NHL Draft (third round, 81st overall).

Gilmartin, 19, recorded 34 points (16 goals, 18 assists) in 55 games for London in his OHL rookie season. The forward netted a career-high five points (three goals, two assists) on Feb. 18 and was named the OHL's first star of the night and the CHL player of the night.

The six-foot-two, 195-pound native of Heidelberg, Germany was selected by San Jose in the 2021 NHL Draft (sixth round, 167th overall).

Guryev, 19, earned 12 points (one goal, 11 assists) in 37 games for Peterborough this season. Guryev led the team in penalty minutes this season (86) and was tied for fourth among club defensemen in points. He tallied his first career OHL goal and was a career-high plus-3 on March 4. The bruising defenseman was voted the second-'Best Body Checker' in the Eastern Conference in the 2022 OHL Coaches Poll.

The six-foot-four, 220-pound native of Moscow, Russia was selected by San Jose in the 2021 NHL Draft (fifth round, 135th overall).

Kashnikov, 19, recorded 32 points (13 goals, 19 assists) in 62 games for Gatineau. His 13 goals and plus-36 rating each led all Gatineau defensemen and ranked eighth among league defenders. Kashnikov recorded two assists in seven playoff games.

The six-foot-six, 202-pound native of Moscow, Russia was selected by San Jose in the 2021 NHL Draft (seventh round, 199th overall).

McCue, 19, notched 35 points (nine goals, 26 assists) in 64 regular season games for London, along with five points (four goals, one assist) in seven playoff games. Across the Knights' seven-game series against Kitchener, McCue was 31 of 43 in faceoffs (71.2%) while his four goals ranked second among London skaters. The forward recorded a hat trick for the Knights in game five on May 1.

The six-foot-one, 175-pound native of Sudbury, Ontario was selected by San Jose in the 2021 NHL Draft (fifth round, 156th overall).

The following player was not signed to a contract by the June 1 deadline and thus becomes an unrestricted free agent.
