Sharks Issue Bonafide Offers

Sharks retain negotiating rights to Gregor and Shoemaker

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the team has issued bonafide offers to the following players (2016 NHL Draft) and thus will retain their negotiating rights:

Noah Gregor , F , Moose Jaw (WHL)

Mark Shoemaker, D, North Bay (OHL)

Gregor, 18, posted 61 points (27 goals, 34 assists) and a plus-5 rating in 52 WHL games with Moose Jaw in 2016-17. He set a career high in plus/minus and finished just one goal shy of his career mark, set in 2015-16, despite playing in 20 fewer games than the previous season. He ranked 3rd on his team in goals and T-2nd in game-winning goals (5).

The six-foot, 180-pound native of Beaumont, Alberta was selected by San Jose in the fourth round (111th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft.

Shoemaker, 19, recorded 16 assists and 22 penalty minutes in 68 games with North Bay of the Ontario Hockey League in 2016-17. He finished 4th amongst team defensemen in points, assists and shots on goal (100).

The six-foot-two, 210-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario was selected by San Jose in the sixth round (180th overall) of the 2016 NHL Draft.

The following player (2015 NHL Draft) was not signed to a contract by the June 1 deadline and will re-enter the NHL Draft.
