HAMILTON MAKES THE SQUAD
Sharks prospect Freddie Hamilton and his brother, Bruins prospect Dougie Hamilton, will represent their native Canada later this month at the 2012 World Junior Championship in Alberta.

SUTTER TO THE KINGS?
Los Angeles Kings writer Rich Hammond reporting that the Kings are interested in former Sharks Head Coach Darryl Sutter as Terry Murray's full-time successor. Since the end of the 2010-11 regular season, three of the five Pacific Division squads have changed head coaches.

HOCKEY BOX OFFICE
It's been a long 48 weeks since the last episode of HBO's 24/7 franchise. Fortunately for hockey fans, last season's mini-series was a ratings hit and -- resuming tonight at 7 PM Pacific (check local listings) --  is likely to be a programming staple for years to come. This year's version, "24/7 Flyers/Rangers: Road to the NHL Winter Classic" has some lofty expectations to match, but consensus seems to be that it's primed to do so.

88 DEBUTS 'NHL 36'
NHL 36: Patrick Kane is the first in a series of 10 episodes that will shadow NHL players for 36 consecutive hours. This looks to be a more expansive take on the NHL's "Day in the Life" series, which featured Ryane Clowe during the 2008-09 season, and in my opinion was severly underrated and before its time.
