by San Jose Sharks Staff / San Jose Sharks
San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has reassigned goaltender Carter Hutton to the Worcester Sharks, the team’s top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

The Sharks also announced that they have activated goaltender Antero Niittymaki from the injured reserve list. Niittymaki has missed the past 11 games with a lower body injury.

Hutton dressed as Antti Niemi’s back-up for 12 games this season but has not appeared in a game.

In 12 games this season with Worcester, he has posted a 2.97 goals-against average and an .896 save percentage with one shutout.

He was signed by San Jose as a free agent on July 1, 2010.
