The 2011-12 Sharks Foundation grant recipients are: Assistance League San Jose, Books Aloud, Breakthrough Silicon Valley, Bring Me A Book Foundation, City Year, Family Supportive Housing Inc., Hospice of the Valley, Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital, Sacred Heart Community Services, Santa Clara University, Silicon Valley Children’s Fund, Teen Challenge, and Third Street Community Center.
Sharks Foundation Board of Directors selected these 13 beneficiaries from an astounding 95 grant applications that were submitted last Fall. The selected organizations all met the criteria set forth by the Sharks Foundation which states that the organization must be classified as a 501(c)3 non-profit group that offers programs that support local youth in Santa Clara County.
“We are proud to extend support to these organizations that strive to enrich the lives of thousands of kids in Santa Clara County and strengthen our community. The Sharks Foundation selected these organizations because their programs exhibit exceptional goals to better the lives of our youth and community in a multitude of ways,” said Malcolm Bordelon, Executive Vice President of Business Operations for the San Jose Sharks. “We are honored to be associated with such admirable organizations that, like the Sharks Foundation, are driven to make a profound impact where assistance is greatly needed.”
