Since its inception in 2014, for every goal scored by the San Jose Sharks, Goals for Kids has made a $1,000 donation to a running sum of funds which has been evenly distributed amongst the program's beneficiaries at the completion of each season. During that span, 81 different Sharks players have scored at last one goal to contribute to the program's donation total, led by Sharks captain Logan Couture who has scored 215 goals. Earlier tonight, when Nico Sturm scored the Sharks first goal in their game vs. the New York Islanders, the grand total of funds distributed through the Goals For Kids program reached $2,000,000.
