Sharks Face Ducks Tonight

by San Jose Sharks Staff / San Jose Sharks
The Sharks will get their first shot against the Stanley Cup Champion Anaheim Ducks tonight in their second preseason game in Southern California.

After falling to the Kings 6-5 in a shootout last night in Los Angeles, the Sharks will face the Ducks at the Honda Center at 7 p.m. Fans wanting to listen to the game live can click here for streaming audio.

With Dimitri Patzold minding the pipes last night, look for Thomas Greiss to get his first start in goal tonight for San Jose. Greiss, chosen by the Sharks in the 2004 NHL Draft (3rd round 94th overall), posted a 26-15-2 record with a 2.61 goals-against average and a .912 save percentage with the Worcester Sharks last season. Patzold and Greiss are considered the front runners for the Sharks back-up goalie position.

This will be the Ducks fifth preseason game in seven days. On Monday night, Anaheim edged out Vancouver, 3-2, on an overtime goal by rookie Petteri Wirtenen, his second of the night. The Ducks are 2-1-1 in preseason play.
