SAN JOSE, CA - San Jose Sharks (@SanJoseSharks) general manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has claimed forward Stefan Noesen (@stefannoesen) off of waivers from the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Noesen, 26, appeared in six games this season for the Penguins, registering one goal on eight shots in 9:51 time on ice (TOI) per game. In 165 career games with the Anaheim Ducks, New Jersey Devils and Pittsburgh, Noesen has recorded 46 points (25 goals, 21 assists) with 88 penalty minutes. He recorded a career high 27 points (13 goals, 14 assists) for the Devils in the 2017-18 season. Noesen made his NHL debut Apr. 3, 2015 with Anaheim.
Noesen has also spent time in the American Hockey League (AHL), appearing in 138 career games, recording 85 points (37 goals, 48 assists) and 185 penalty minutes as a member of the Norfolk Admirals, San Diego Gulls and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.
The six-foot-one, 205-pound Plano, Texas native was originally selected by Ottawa in the 2011 NHL Draft (first round, 21st overall).
