Sharks Camp Snapshot is a quick chance to catch up with the guys from what they've done over the summer break to where their focus is entering Training Camp ahead of the 2016-17 season.
Check in with Joe Pavelski on his offseason adventures and what he looks forward to most this season.
What was your favorite memory from last season?
One of my favorite memories was the Stanley Cup Final. It wasn't the ending we were looking for, but it was an amazing experience. Clinching the Conference Final at home was also awesome.
But overall, it was just really cool how everything kept building from the first half of the year and led all the way up to the Final. We gained a little bit of ground at the beginning of the season and then we had a bit of a rough patch ... then once we really started hitting our stride it was fun to see the guys come together and play as solid as we did.
Where did you go on vacation this season?
I spent about five days up in Vail. Besides that I spent a lot of time at home in Madison on the lake which was very relaxing.
Any good movies, TV shows, or books you watched or read during the offseason?
I didn't watch much TV this offseason. I spent a majority of my time outside on the lake. I'll watch a lot of Netflix during the year on the road.
Teammate you missed most in the offseason?
I'd have to say probably Chris Tierney. He brings a smile to everyone's face when you see him in the morning.
What is your individual focus for training camp and this season?
Now that we're underway at camp my focus is just to get up to speed and understand that it's a new season. There will be different challenges that we'll work together to get through. I'm expecting good games and playing our game sooner rather than later.
What are you looking forward to most this season?
I'm really looking forward to just being around the guys - that's the biggest thing. We know we've rebuilt some good stuff from last year and also added a few good guys. In addition, I'm really excited to start playing games - I'm ready to get to the Shark Tank, get that place going again, and then get on the road and spend time with the guys.
