Sharks Assign Andrew Murray to Worcester

SAN JOSE, California -
San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has assigned forward Andrew Murray to the Worcester Sharks, the team’s top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

Murray, 30, has posted four points (one goal, three assists) in 39 games for San Jose this season. He spent the previous four seasons with the Columbus Blue Jackets where he collected 36 points (23 goals, 13 assists) and 32 penalty minutes in 181 games.

The six-foot-two, 210-pound native of Selkirk, Manitoba was signed as a free agent on July 18, 2011.

In other roster moves, goaltender Antero Niittymaki has been assigned to the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL.
