SAN JOSE – The Sharks Foundation is teaming up with Fremont Bank in support of the Fremont Bank “Reading Is Cool” Program by hosting a children’s book drive at HP Pavilion on Jan. 17 and Jan 19.
Sharks fans can contribute to the book drive by making new or slightly used book donations as they enter from the North and South entrances of the HP Pavilion at San Jose for the Sharks games on Jan. 17 (Dallas) and Jan. 19 (Detroit). The children’s books will be donated to Bay Area elementary school libraries.
All participants will receive a raffle ticket for a drawing to be held that night with prizes including autographed Sharks items. Raffle winners will be announced on the video board during the first intermission and must claim their prize at The Sharks Foundation booth (located outside section 124) before the end of the second intermission.
Fremont Bank “Reading Is Cool” is a free literacy program open to all K-6 grade public school classes in Santa Clara County and Southern Alameda County (Newark, Fremont, and Union City). By incorporating unique incentives and encouraging family involvement, it promotes the importance of reading to students, both at home and in the classroom
