Shark Life: Fight Night

by Ann Frazier / sjsharks.com

If you turned on the TV or went on the internet at all last week, chances were that you might have heard about a boxing match happening in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Okay, that's a slight understatement. The Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor boxing match, pitting one of the greatest boxers against one of the greatest MMA fighters, was a highly-anticipated event that dominated the conversation. And Sharks players were no different from the rest of us.

Troy Grosenick and Chris Tierney both tweeted out their support for McGregor.

Tweet from @TGrose1: So fired up cheering on @TheNotoriousMMA #ErinGoBragh #FinishFloyd pic.twitter.com/mwrLzPQj44

Tweet from @tierney71: How can you not respect that. What an effort by @TheNotoriousMMA

Of course, notorious beard buddies one-upped everyone and actually went to the event (we'll give you one guess as to which fighter Brent Burns was cheering for).

Tweet from @Burnzie88: A legend! @TheNotoriousMMA amazing to witness that event! What a speech after... win or learn! @John_Kavanagh boys did everyone proud pic.twitter.com/joKkcZRDzZ

Then again, Burns's support of McGregor makes sense when you consider the two hung out a few years ago.
