The Canucks, who've been outscored 20-5 during the streak, will start goaltender Jacob Markstrom but will be without defenseman Chris Tanev, who's expected to miss 2-3 weeks with a groin strain. Tanev was injured during the third period of a 7-1 loss to the Nashville Predators on Wednesday.
Sharks goalie Martin Jones will try for his 100th NHL win in his hometown one night after Aaron Dell made 32 saves near his hometown in a 3-2 win against the Calgary Flames.
San Jose is 6-2-1 in its past nine games and has won 11 straight games in Vancouver since the Canucks' 4-3 victory on Jan. 21, 2012. The Sharks have outscored the Canucks 41-14 during that streak.

Status report

Donskoi scored the winning goal and had one assist in Calgary after missing the previous six games with an undisclosed injury. … Green said Sutter is 7-10 days away from returning and that Gudbranson, who skated with the team Friday morning, will be back sooner. The Canucks called up defenseman Ashton Sautner from Utica in the American Hockey League on Thursday but Biega will replace Tanev in the lineup.
