The Sharks own S.J. Sharkie, along with Sharks All-Stars Joe Thornton
, Jonathan Cheechoo and Captain Patrick Marleau
made the trip to the NHL’s 55th All-Star Game this past week in Dallas. Sharkie, who left town Monday, made several charitable appearances this week along with his appearance at the NHL YoungStars game, SuperSkills competition and All-Star Game.
Along with the NHL, Sharkie started his week by visiting a Ft. Worth-area hospital for the Teammates 4 Kids Program. Sharkie also represented the Sharks at the NHL Street Program at Runyeon Elementary School in Dallas before heading off to another Teammates 4 Kids event later that day.
Closing out Day One of Sharkie’s All-Star Week, Sharkie headed up to the American Airlines Center South Plaza for the Stanley Cup Parade from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Sharkie’s night concluded at the arena with an appearance at the “NHL Salute to Generation of Stars.”
Day Two of Sharkie’s trip was just as busy as he made an appearance for the Stick with Reading Program at a Dallas-area elementary school. Sharkie then rushed off to Dallas-Fort Worth Airport to welcome home troops from overseas. Staying just as busy, Sharkie made the move to the American Airlines Center North Parking lot from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. for the Habitat for Humanity House Building session.
Day Two concluded as Sharkie helped welcome the NHL All-Stars at the “Red Carpet Player Arrivals” from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. at the American Airlines Center South Plaza. Sharkie finished off his evening with the Upper Deck “NHL YoungStars” Game and Dodge Nitro SuperSkills Competition from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.
Sharkie’s final day in Dallas involved the All-Star Evening with the NHL All-Star Pre-Game Concert from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and then Sharkie made an appearance at the 55th NHL All-Star game later at 7:00 p.m.
S.J. Sharkie’s busy week had two purposes. Not only was he watching some great hockey but Sharkie also took time from his busy schedule to give back to the community by participating with the charitable events in the Dallas area.
