Round 2 Series With Edmonton Begins Sunday At HP Pavilion

by Staff Writer / San Jose Sharks
Courtesy of the Mighty Ducks 3-0 victory over the Calgary Flames, the Sharks are now the highest remaining seed in the 2006 Playoffs presented by Intersil. San Jose will now have home ice through the Western Conference Finals if they can move past their next opponent, the Edmonton Oilers. The Round 2 battle will mark the first time the Sharks have played Edmonton in the postseason.

The Sharks have never faced Edmonton in the postseason and finished four points above the Oilers in the regular season. Edmonton was victorious in three of the four regular season contests, however, two of those victories came in the shootout, which is not part of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
